Mrs. Angie Snyder

Mrs. Angie Snyder Principal

Mrs. Angie Snyder will enter her 22nd year as an educator, all serving in ECCSS, this year. Mrs. Snyder served as a classroom teacher at Claxton Elementary School (CES) before moving into an Instructional Coach role at CES where she was able to work closely with teachers and students to improve all aspects of teaching and learning.  After several years as an Instructional Coach, Mrs. Snyder became an Assistant Principal at Claxton High School (CHS) in the spring of 2019.  

Mrs. Angie Snyder completed her student teaching in 2002 at Claxton Middle School.  Following graduation from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education, Mrs. Snyder obtained her Master's degree from Walden University with a focus on K-8 Mathematics Education. Mrs. Snyder obtained her Leadership Degree from Valdosta State University.

Mrs. Snyder joined the Claxton Middle School family as Principal in July 2024.

Mr. Daerzio Harris

Mr. Daerzio Harris, Assistant Principal

Mr. Daerzio Harris is an experienced and passionate educator who joined the Claxton Middle School family as Assistant Principal in July 2023. With over 15 years of experience in education, he brings a wealth of instructional knowledge and a commitment to staying current with best practices.

Mr. Harris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Education and Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Albany State University. A lifelong learner, he plans to pursue his Doctorate in Education beginning in Fall 2025.

Mr. Harris has served in various roles throughout his career, including middle school teacher, adjunct math professor, adult education instructor, and elementary school teacher. He has also served on the Teacher Burnout Taskforce with the GaDOE in 2022. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct professor at Savannah State University. He is the State President of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE), the largest independent teacher organization, representing over 90,000 members.

Mr. Harris is dedicated to meeting the needs of students in the 21st century. He is known for his innovative teaching methods and ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment. He is committed to working collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to ensure that all students at Claxton Middle School have access to a high-quality education.

Mr. Chris Johnson-Bryant

Mr. Chris Johnson-Bryant, Assistant Principal

Mr. Chris Johnson-Bryant will enter year nine as an educator this school year. Mr. Johnson-Bryant begins year four in Evans County Charter School System, where he has served as a Behavior Interventionist at Claxton High School for the past two years. In this role, Mr. Johnson-Bryant worked closely with students, CHS administrators, and other staff to help implement strategies to decrease problematic behaviors and increase productive behaviors. 

Mr. Johnson-Bryant has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and has also served as an athletic coach for arena football, middle and high school baseball, and high school football, and he will continue to serve as offensive coordinator for CHS Football and begin as the head coach for CMS Baseball this year. 

Mr. Johnson-Bryant joined the Claxton Middle School family as Assistant Principal in July 2024.
