Evans County Charter School System

May 5, 2022: The Evans County Charter School System (ECCSS) announced its most recent

accreditation by global nonprofit, Cognia TM. This distinction extends ECCSS’s accreditation for five

years and designates ECCSS as a district that achieves the Cognia Performance Standards and is

committed to ongoing improvement.

Cognia, an international organization that has teamed with more than 35,000 schools in over 80

countries, uses a protocol of 31 standards to measure a school’s commitment to “systematic and

sustainable improvement.” School districts undergoing Cognia accreditation engage in an internal

and external review process, providing extensive documentation of improvement efforts, participating

in staff, student, BOE, family, and community-member interview panels, and committing to continued

improvement efforts.
