November 14, 2024: Evans County Charter School System (ECCSS) is aware of an alleged threat that was made at Claxton Middle School (CMS) this afternoon.
Administrators at CMS and law enforcement investigated the alleged threat, and while it appears this threat is not credible, all threats made against our schools are taken very seriously and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
ECCSS will have additional safety measures in place as a precaution. School administrators and other staff will conduct safety walks, and schools will implement necessary safety protocols.
Thank you to our students, staff, and concerned parents and families who are notifying law enforcement and school administrators when anything is questionable. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.
