January 22, 2025: Evans County Charter School System (ECCSS) officials collaborated with with Evans County Emergency Management Agency (ECEMA) again today to discuss impacts of Winter Storm Enzo. Due to the snow and ice accumulation, current forecast, and potential for refreezing overnight, ECCSS campuses will remain closed on Thursday, January 23. The greatest concern currently is the the safe operation of school buses and other vehicles. 

Below are decisions ECCSS made thus far:

  • ECCSS will remain closed on Thursday, January 23.

  • All after school activities school-sponsored events are cancelled for Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23; rescheduled dates for many of these events can be found on our website by using our calendar tab (https://www.evans.k12.ga.us/page/calendars-and-events).   

  • We will provide an update by 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 23, about operations for Friday, January 24.

  • If we are able to  return to normal operations on Friday, January 24, there is a possibility of a delayed start time. Also, if we are able to return Friday, January 24, we will run our Alternate Bus Stop Routes (https://tinyurl.com/5x77n2wf) due to the projected road conditions. If there are changes, we will communicate them via all media outlets.

Further official alerts regarding our district will be shared with families through our Kinvo messaging system. Families can also monitor district social media and website for any further developments. Student, employee, family, and community safety is our number one priority.
