CMS students and staff were sliding into their childhood and shooting into their future for Homecoming Week Day 3....

Firefighting students performed the skills of using a pike pole for pushing and pulling items like sheetrock on walls during the mop up phase of a fire. They also learned that in certain situations, they could use an axe to go through a wall to escape a hazardous area. Building construction parts and definitions were reviewed as they were revealed in the demolition. #TheDen #RealLife

🚀🔬🎈 Our 6th-grade students are reaching new heights with their creativity and problem-solving skills! 💡🤝📚
Our 6th graders in Mrs. Myers's class recently embarked on an exciting journey using the engineering design process to create balloon rockets 🚀✨. Armed with only provided supplies, they were tasked with crafting rockets that could zip along a vertical track to help students learn about force and motion! 🎈🔝
Here's how this hands-on experience is shaping their education:
1️⃣ Force and Motion: Through trial and error, our students are grasping the principles of force and motion. They're witnessing firsthand how different variables affect their rocket's speed and direction! 📏⏱️
2️⃣ Collaboration: Teamwork makes the dream work! 💪 Our young scientists are learning the value of working together, sharing ideas, and compromising to achieve their rocketry goals. 🙌🤝
3️⃣ Critical Thinking: Balloon rockets are all about precision and calculation. Our students are developing critical thinking skills as they analyze and adjust their designs for optimal performance. 🤔📊
4️⃣ Communication: Effective communication is key to any successful project. These budding engineers are honing their abilities to explain their ideas, ask questions, and offer feedback to improve their rockets. 🗣️📢
5️⃣ Creativity: The sky's the limit when it comes to creativity! 🌌 Our students are given the freedom to explore imaginative solutions, encouraging them to think outside the box! 🎨🌟
We're incredibly proud of our 6th graders as they combine science and engineering concepts with practical skills in this exciting project. 🌠👏 #RoarandSoar #4Cs #LearningByDoing

CMS students and staff are "Dressed for Success" for the first day of Homecoming Week! #RoarANDSoar

CMS students who had good behavior, no missing assignments, and had missed no days during the month of September were rewarded with popcorn and a movie on Friday, September 29th for the monthly BAM celebration. Students watched "Remember the Titans," a powerful true story about overcoming adversity and coming together as a team, regardless of background and interests. This supports what we teach our students during Tiger Pride on Mondays. Congratulations, students. Keep up the good work! #RoarANDSoar
