Please see important information below regarding immunization requirements for rising 7th and 11th grade students: Rising 7th graders- Students who were born on or after 1/2/2002 need proof of an adolescent pertussis booster vaccine (Tdap) and an adolescent meningococcal vaccine (MCV4). Rising 11th graders- All 11th grade students are required to be vaccinated with a booster dose of the meningococcal vaccine. This is a booster from the shot they received in 7th grade. Immunizations can be done at the health department or a doctor’s office. These immunizations are due at the beginning of the school year. Copies of updated immunization records should be submitted to our school nurse, Ms. Kiley Hall. Work-Based Learning Program Flyer
Congratulations to Hannah Boggs, Class of 2022, for being selected as a student in the Y.E.S. (Youth learning Equipment Safety) Training Program at the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA)! Each year, the GPA recruits a select number of high school graduates from the Southeast area seeking a career right out of high school. GPA provides valuable on-the-job training and the necessary work experience to become a top-performing employee at GPA. The program begins August 22nd and is year-long with the expectations of becoming a full-time employee of the GPA’s workforce. Hannah was chosen based on her interview, resume, letters of recommendation, and other program qualifications. Hannah is the only CHS senior this year who pursued this opportunity. She has worked diligently with Ms. Channa Robinson, the CHS Work-based Learning Coordinator, to complete the requirements. We are proud of Hannah, and we wish her all the best as she pursues this opportunity and her career!
