The Boys Soccer team beat Macon County 4-1, advancing to the Elite Eight for the 3rd year in a row. Urises Danu scored 2 goals- Arturo Rodriguez assisted in one. Jaime Delgado scored from an assist by Urises Danu. Ladrelin Johnson scored from an assist by Allen Ventura.

Press Release - For immediate release Bluestein Promoted to Assistant Principal at Claxton Elementary School for the 2022-2023 School Year
On Monday, April 18, 2022 the Evans County Charter School System Board of Education approved Superintendent Dr. Marty Waters’s recommendation for Eric Bluestein to be an Assistant Principal at Claxton Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year.
Eric Bluestein began working in Evans County in 2001 as a Health and PE Teacher. Mr. Bluestein is also the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, and is also a Professional Learning Community Lead. He has experience in teaching and learning in both the elementary and high school levels. Mr. Bluestein earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Georgia Southern University in 2001 and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2004. In 2021, Mr. Bluestein completed his Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Georgia College and State University. Mr. Bluestein is married to Lauren (Tootle) Bluestein, and they have one daughter, Maggy.
“During Mr. Bleustein’s 20 year tenure with the system, he has continuously sought to improve the lives of the children whether it be on a basketball court, in the classroom, or in the community. I am very excited to have him at CES because I know his love for children is going to help us create the best learning environment possible,” stated CES Principal Julie Howard.

Mrs. Whitfield's first grade students visited the Collaboratory for some math fun with robots! They learned to use block coding to program their robot. They used math skills that they learned in their class to calculate the total distance that the robot moved. Briggs & Stratton Manufacturing Engineers Mr. Gardner and Mr. Hamm made a video for them to see how robotics is used in their work. They ended their day by programming their robot to dance!

CMS STEM classes are celebrating the Easter season with an Egg Drop experiment. Students designed a contraption to keep a raw egg from busting when dropped from a higher elevation. Thanks to the Fire Department for allowing us to use their fire truck for the experiment!
