Please join ECCSS in celebrating another round of Welcome Wednesday!
We're going coast-to-coast in this edition, welcoming teachers from kindergarten-12th grade! We want to make them all feel a warm Tiger WELCOME!
Check out the Tiger graphic to get the scoop about what these folks are excited about for the 22-23 school year!
Welcome to ECCSS! We're so glad you're here!

Mrs. Whitfield and Mrs. Bacon's class learned all about 'Maximizing Positive Relationships' with their classmates by creating a compliment circle and making friendship soup! 💕

Students in Mrs. Nicoli's Art class have been working collaboratively to research a painting. They had to Communicate and Collaborate to get the information, use their Critical thinking skills to determine what was valuable and valid research, and use their Creativity to determine how they wanted to present the information to their classmates. This is a great example of how our students are using the 4Cs while participating in project based learning!

ECCSS will offer onsite COVID testing for students and staff.
📌When?
Thursdays, beginning August 25th
8:15 (CMS/CHS); 10:00 (CES); 11:30 (The Academy)

Mrs. Kirk’s 4th grade class visted the library, checked out
a new book, and enjoyed some time reading in a comfy spot.

2nd grade has been studying government leaders and their jobs. Terry Branch, the mayor of Claxton, visited the school to talk with us about his duties in the community. We are so thankful for his leadership and for taking the time to share with us.

Mrs. Mathis’s class collaborating on their rock projects. Students are helping each other navigate google slides and becoming producers of technology while learning about different rocks and minerals.

Please help ECCSS celebrate two of Claxton High School’s (CHS) own, Aracely Silva-Rodriguez and Miguel Munoz-Cerro, members of the senior and junior classes, respectively.
Aracely and Miguel are pioneering members of the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Pre-Apprentice Program, supported through partnerships with CHS, Ogeechee Technical College (OTC), and Claxton Poultry.
Through this program for dual-enrolled students, Aracely and Miguel will receive college coursework through Ogeechee Tech and on-the-job training, including mentorship, through Claxton Poultry.
Aracely and Miguel were welcomed to Claxton Poultry yesterday afternoon for the signing event, where members of the College Career Academy board and staff from CHS, OTC, and Claxton Poultry celebrated these two trailblazing members of the pre-apprentice program.
Good luck Aracely and Miguel! ECCSS is proud of you!

Students and parents, it’s PICTURE TIME at CES!
Fall pictures will be made by inVision pix on Friday, September 9th.
Here are a few suggestions to make your fall pictures great:
● Wear solid colors. They enhance the facial tones and do not detract from expressions.
● Look for a top that complements your child’s face.
● Clothes that are clean and stain-free.
● The front of your child’s hair should not be “eyelash-brushing long”.
● Neat, shiny hair always looks best.
● Encourage them to let their braces shine and remind them that a gap tooth is beautiful!
Mark your calendar for September 9th. We look forward to seeing your child.

Ms. Selph's Geometry class was learning about parallel lines cut by a transversal. Students played a game to see who could gather all the definitions and congruent angles in the fastest amount of time.

Claxton Elementary School (CES) will hold its annual Title I meeting on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 6:00 PM. All parents and stakeholders are invited to attend. The meeting will be held in the CES Cafeteria.

Would you like to show your Tiger Pride and support for our CMS Cheerleaders?
Please consider purchasing a t-shirt from our CMS Cheerleaders. We are accepting orders until next Friday, August 26th.
If you have any questions, please email Coach Sapp (asapp@evanscountyschools.org) or Coach Rush (mrush@evanscountyschools.org).
Go Tigers!

9th Grade Commitment Ceremony

Mrs. Jenkins' 2nd grade class was feeling the "Fry-day" Vibes in the media center. Scoob, the shelf elf, reminded them about manners in the media center and how to take care of their books. Afterwards, they were excited to check-out their first library book of the new school year.
