Students in Mrs. Lane's Introduction to Business classes have recently learned about professional business correspondences. Students were challenged to write a professional letter to a celebrity or business that they admired. Tiya Patel, a sophomore in Mrs. Lane's class, was the first to receive a response from the Chick-fil-a franchisee, Mr. David Boykin, of the Statesboro restaurant. Thank you, Chick-fil-a! #LifeSkils #BlackAndGoldBuildingSuccess #TheDEN

The calendar pages are flipping quickly on the 23-24 school year, and our Work-Based Learning students are keeping pace! I was able to spend a few of those quickly passing moments with senior Simone Eason at her job at Southern Family Medicine. Simone works at the front desk, and she completes tasks from appointment reminders to greeting patients to answering the nurse line. She has learned skills that will transfer to the next phase of life. After graduation, Simone plans to attend Savannah State University and major in communications. Her time in this role at Southern Family Medicine has provided a great foundation for her future path. Way to go, Simone! You make CHS proud! #RealLife #TheDEN #BlackAndGoldBuildingSuccess

Just before spring break, The DEN hosted this year's Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet. The CHS cafeteria was transformed into a beautiful venue, and Culinary Arts provided catering for the event. The meal, prepared for the 165 ticket holders, consisted of a mixed greens salad dressed in a vinaigrette, smoked ham, mushroom smothered chicken breasts, garlic whipped potatoes, squash casserole, green beans, warm rolls, and banana pudding. The DEN is grateful for this opportunity to serve our community!

Please see this important announcement from our friends at the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce!
Evans County, we need your input! Please take a couple of minutes and complete this survey from the University of Georgia Connected Resilient Communities Program: https://tinyurl.com/4s7ph6vj
We are excited to announce that Claxton-Evans County has been selected as one of four communities to participate in the University of Georgia Connected Resilient Communities Program. This allows us, as a community, to identify our greatest community needs and work with UGA staff and partners to address these needs. This is a HUGE DEAL for our community, and we need to take advantage of this opportunity.
To begin the process, community members are asked to complete a survey; survey link is included below or scan QR code on flyer for access to the survey. Deadline to complete the survey is April 13th. Please share this with family, friends, and co-workers. It is crucial that we have a good response from the community. We need to hear from YOU.

Mrs. Cowart, Ms. Christin, and Ms. Amber had a blast learning about solar eclipses 🌞🌑. They tested out some awesome eclipse glasses 😎 and reviewed important safety guidelines 🚦. They also got creative, drawing chalk illustrations of the eclipse 🖍️, and wrapped up with an informative video 📺.
