🐾💛 Learning About Friendship and Caring for Pets! 💛🐾
Ms. Thigpen and Ms. Melissa’s class had a fun-filled week learning how to be good friends and how to take care of their pets. We celebrated friendship with a special snack and created a Friendship Caterpillar together. It was such a joy to learn what it means to be a good friend! We also discovered that our pets are our friends and that they need food, water, and air to survive. The class enjoyed sharing stories about their favorite pets and discussing what being a good friend truly means. 😊🐶🐱

📐✨ Learning Math Through Discovery! ✨📐
Mrs. Sefers' 6th grade math students are taking a hands-on approach to learning! They're discovering how to find the area of polygons without relying on formulas, sharpening their reasoning skills to truly understand the why behind the math. 🔍💡
Way to go, young mathematicians! Keep up the great work in building a strong foundation for future problem-solving! 👏✨ #MathInAction #CriticalThinking #HandsOnLearning #FutureProblemSolvers
Congratulations to our CHS Class of 2026 members who received their class rings on Friday, August 30, during the Junior Ring Ceremony. We know you'll wear your rings proudly as you represent Claxton High School and the Class of 2026. #BlackAndGoldMakingMemories #TigerTraditions

🌋📚 Erupting with Excitement in Mrs. Hallman’s 2nd Grade Class! 📚🌋
To kick off the story "My Mouth is a Volcano," Mrs. Hallman’s 2nd grade class conducted a fun experiment to see what happens when vinegar meets baking soda! The story is about a young boy who can’t wait his turn to speak and "erupts," talking out of turn. Mrs. Hallman explained that the "eruption" made by the baking soda and vinegar is like your thoughts building up inside you that you want to share, but we can’t let our thoughts "erupt" when the teacher or other students are talking.
This book is a fantastic way to introduce the importance of waiting our turn to speak and setting classroom expectations. The experiment was a great way to engage students and will hopefully remind them to hold onto their rising thoughts until it’s their turn to speak, so they don’t erupt! 🌟🗣️

🖤💛Please help ECCSS give a shout-out to Claxton Middle School for hosting an AWESOME 6th Grade Family Orientation last week! 🖤💛
We are so thankful to all the students, families, and other guests who joined us last week! We are so grateful to all of our students and staff who welcomed our Tiger guests! Your support means the world to us!🌎
During the orientation, our families got to “pretend” to be 6th graders, rotating through classes and experiencing a day in the life of their students. 📚✏️ It was a fantastic opportunity to see firsthand what our amazing 6th grade Tigers experience every day.
Go Tigers! 🖤💛 Let’s make this year our best ever!
