🌞 April's Sunshine Basket Winner: Miss Savannah Ivey! 🎉
Congratulations to Miss Savannah Ivey, our outstanding 2nd grade teacher and this month's recipient of the April Sunshine Basket! 🌼 The basket was joyfully presented by Mrs. Kelly's 2nd graders, who thanked Miss Ivey not only for teaching them math but for "all the other amazing things she does".
Miss Ivey is known for her dedication, greeting every student with a smile as they pass her classroom each morning. 🚪😊 Teaching is clearly her passion, and her commitment to making school enjoyable for her students shines through every day. She truly has a heart for all her students at CES.
Miss Ivey is incredibly deserving of our Sunshine Basket, as she consistently proves to be a dedicated ray of sunshine for everyone at our school, brought to light especially by Mrs. Kelly's 2nd graders this month. 🌟🍎

Did you know research suggests that children who eat breakfast before a standardized test have higher scores in math and reading than those who don't? Breakfast eaters also have better memory, attention, and brain function.
We offer breakfast free to our students every day! Get your child to school early to eat with us this week!

GMAS testing begins tomorrow for our elementary and middle school students!
CMS students, please remember to charge your Chromebooks!

Did you hear the news, Tiger Nation? Two of our very own CHS Tigers, Alexandria Carbone and Marissa Ramirez, were recognized for their LIFE-SAVING efforts!
While visiting our local Dairy Queen following soccer practice last week, Alexandria and Marissa went into quick action when they noticed an individual experiencing a medical emergency. Alexandria and Marissa performed CPR until emergency services arrived.
ECCSS joins many others in commending these Tigers for being alert, proactive, and compassionate! Please help ECCSS show some BIG Tiger 💛 🖤 💛 to to these two AMAZING Tigers!

🧮💻🐾 Technology, Real-World Applications, and Math, Oh My! 🎉
Students in Mrs. Kaley Hallman's second grade class have been diving into adding multiple two-digit numbers! 📚 They put their new skills to the test by choosing and researching potential class pets, exploring the cost of their supplies. Using their Chromebooks, students visited pet store websites to research prices for items they wanted to "purchase" for the class pet they chose! 🖥️🐶🐱 Then, they applied their math skills to add up those numbers and calculate the total cost of their pet! 🧮💰

🚒🥚 EGGciting News from Claxton Middle School! 🥚🚒
Our STEM students in Mr. Sapp's classes rose to the challenge during our recent Egg Drop experiment, showcasing their engineering creativity by using the Engineering and Design Process! Tasked with designing a contraption solely from recyclable materials, our young innovators developed solutions to protect an egg from a thrilling drop off a fire truck.
A huge shoutout to the Claxton Fire Department for their essential support and for making this incredible learning experience possible. Their participation not only brought the excitement but also inspired our students to think bigger!
