Tammie Smith (right), CMS/CHS Cafeteria Manager, accepts a delivery of fresh apples from Aaron Family Orchards in Ellijay, GA. Shane Todd (left) delivered the apples to Evans County. The Evans County Schools School Nutrition program is participating in the Local Food to Schools Pilot Program this school year. This program provides funds for participating school nutrition programs to purchase food directly from Georgia Farmers. Students will be served these apples this Friday for our Crunch 4 Lunch event promoting the nutritional value of apples. #FuelingGA

Mrs. Mathis's Tiger Time students were collaborating in teams to construct the most towering place value traps, all set to capture those crafty number villains! Afterward, they documented the total values of their base ten block traps and added them together. 🧩🔢 #ReadySetGrow #CES

Colorful Adventures in Learning with Ms. Hendrix and Ms. Peel 🌈🎨 Ms. Hendrix and Ms. Peel's young learners have been on an exciting journey exploring the world of colors through a variety of engaging activities! 📚 From creating vibrant tie-dye art to reading "Brown Bear Brown" and retelling the story with adorable puppets, these young minds have been immersed in a world of colors and creativity. They've also been busy mixing colors and taking a sensory paint walk inspired by Pete the Cat! 🐱🎨 They had an absolute blast while soaking up all this colorful knowledge! 🎉 #ReadySetGrow #CES

Students in Mrs. Brown's 7th Grade Science classes used an app called "Explore" and the help of a special guest, "Mr. Body," to guide them through an interactive lesson. By the end of the class, students were able to learn how the digestive, circulatory, respiratory, and other systems interact with each other to perform life processes. It was an engaging way for students to gain a deeper understanding of how the human body works together as a whole. The Explore app really helped bring the content to life, and having Mr. Body there gave them a visual. #4Cs #RoarANDSoar

On Saturday, September 16th, 10 students traveled to Jam Fest at Statesboro High School. Jam Fest is an event sponsored annually by the SAI Sorority. The music clinic is designed to both teach and give extra performance opportunities to advanced 7th and 8th grade band students. The students are put into instrument sections and taught by a GSU student for an hour; then they learn a piece of music for an hour and perform the piece. Great job, students...we are proud of you. #RoarANDSoar
