CES, students and parents, it’s PICTURE TIME! 📷 Fall pictures will be made by inVision pix on September 26th. We’ve included a few suggestions to make your fall pictures all that they can be. Wear solid colors if possible. They enhance facial tones and do not distract from the overall photo. Wear long or short-sleeved tops if possible; avoid sleeveless. Let your child know that the photographer will coach and position them for the best image. Reinforce a positive attitude by sharing how excited you are to see their school portrait. Encourage your child to let their smile shine and remind them that their smile is beautiful! The photographers will use a number of tricks to lessen glare, but sometimes it’s impossible. Ask that your child be photographed both with and without glasses. Mark your calendar for September 26th. We look forward to seeing you there! 📷

It's time again for our annual school flu vaccine clinic. The Evans County Health Department will be on our campuses to administer flu vaccines to staff and students who sign up. Parents and families, student permission forms were shared with students at school. If you need more please contact your child’s school nurse (see info below). DON'T FORGET...CMS invites all parents and stakeholders to attend our annual Title I Meeting TOMORROW, September 19th, at 5:30 PM in the CMS/CHS cafetorium.

On Saturday, September 16, the CHS JV and Varsity cheer teams hosted their annual Wee Cheer Camp. The participants learned cheers and stunts and played games. The wee campers will show off their skills at the Tigers v Jenkins Co football game on Friday, September 22, 2023. Pregame will include the wee campers, the Pride of Evans County CHS band, and varsity cheerleaders beginning at 7:00 pm. We ask Tiger fans to please wear gold in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Our 7 Mindsets focus this week is "Act and Adjust." We want our students to know that things might not always go their way, but they still have to keep doing the right things. #RoarANDSoar #7Mindsets

Mrs. Hallman's 2nd grade Tiger Time class has been working with CVCe (sneaky e) words this week! They got to play "write the room" where they rotated around the room to various pictures of CVCe words and had to write the word on a recording sheet. They had a lot of fun! 📚🐯✏️ #ReadySetGrow #CES

Mr. Burney’s drama students are gearing up for their first production for the Teen Maze, sponsored in conjunction with Evans County Family Connection. Teen Maze provides students with information about personal responsibility, as well as consequences of risky behaviors such as drinking and drug use. The drama students are learning to do wounds and bruises make up to prepare for their part in the Teen Maze. #Collaboration #Creativity

This is a meal our students at Claxton Elementary School absolutely loved today! Students were treated to chicken fingers, a yeast roll, macaroni and cheese, stewed cabbage, a side salad, apple wedges (with caramel dip), and their choice of cold milk. Our students are provided nutritionally balanced meals that meet federal guidelines at no cost to families! #FuelingGA #GATrayoftheWeek

Kaidence Allred, Allie Floyd, and Aashi Patel were sponsored by the Claxton Rotary Club to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership camp in June in Brunswick. Kaidence and Allie shared their experiences with the club members during the Rotary meeting on Wednesday, September 13. The girls also conveyed their thanks to the members for allowing them to build their leadership capacity through this experience. #Collaboration #LifeSkills #Communication
