Routes 25 (CES) and 8 (CMS/CHS) are running behind due to road conditions. We wanted to let our parents know that these buses are delayed this afternoon. Transporting our students safely is our top priority.

The CMS Tennis match that was scheduled for today has been canceled. It has been rescheduled for Monday, October, 16.
There is no CMS Tennis practice for today (Thursday, 10/12/23), and students should go home their regular way.

Please help ECCSS recognize and celebrate these highlights from our ECCSS Board of Education (BOE) work session and meeting this month!
Dr. Bobby Costlow, ECCSS Human Resources Officer, and LaMaudice Holmes, ECCSS Chief Financial Officer, shared strengths, opportunities for growth, and metrics for the next sections of our draft of the updated district strategic plan.
Both Dr. Costlow and Ms. Holmes emphasized the strengths and celebrations based on goals from our previous plan and feedback from last year's Town Hall Meetings and school sessions. Also, presentations focused on elements to improve or continue to grow and how we plan to monitor progress.
Schools will share these updates with staff, School Governance Teams, and other stakeholders, and ECCSS will continue to seek feedback as we fine-tune our updated district plan.
Our next district strategic plan share-out is focused on Parent, Family, and Community Engagement, and it's scheduled for the November 2nd BOE work session. We invite and welcome all interested stakeholders to join us!

Ms. Thigpen, Ms. Melissa, and Ms. Courtney’s class recently learned about apples. They had an apple tasting, where they sampled different apple flavored snacks. Then they made a chart to show their favorite type of apple. They sorted apples by color, learned about the Life Cycle of an Apple, and they painted with apples! They also enjoyed Apple Pie in a cup! It was a great week! 🍎🍏📚

How can you help your local FLEX program? Be a sponsor!
Sponsorships are necessary to fund our local FLEX competition. These sponsorships are also a great way for the community to get involved with students and promote entrepreneurship.
In addition to monetary donations for prize money and other expenses, you can also be creative in your giving! Some sponsors have donated things like:
– Business attire for student entrepreneurs
– Facility rentals
– Meals for students & judges
