This annual event is sponsored through a partnership between the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce and ECCSS. Participants will have the option to run an off-road, cross-country 5K, a paved road 5K, or a paved road 10K!

On Saturday, September 16th, 10 students traveled to Jam Fest at Statesboro High School. Jam Fest is an event sponsored annually by the SAI Sorority. The music clinic is designed to both teach and give extra performance opportunities to advanced 7th and 8th grade band students. The students are put into instrument sections and taught by a GSU student for an hour; then they learn a piece of music for an hour and perform the piece. Great job, students...we are proud of you. #RoarANDSoar
Students in Ms. Adams' 8th grade ELA Classes are working with their PAL (Peer Assisted Learning) to assess their extended response writing. Students are currently writing about the consequences of climate change. #4Cs #RoarANDSoar

Coach Lanier’s students annotated and evaluated a narrative. They analyzed parts of a narrative including point of view, plot, dialect/dialogue, and theme. Students will use these narratives as examples as they construct their own narratives. #Collaboration #CriticalThinking

It was an enjoyable week for our PreK students as they dove into the world of colors. Each day, they dressed according to a specific color theme, and to cap off the week, they had a fantastic color-themed party! 🌈🎉

On Friday, September 8th, CES PreK classes hosted their annual 'Breakfast with Grandparents' event, which turned out to be a resounding success! We were thrilled to see so many grandparents and family members join us for a special meal with their PreK children. Our dedicated School Nutrition Program staff truly outdid themselves by serving a delightful breakfast. 🥞🍳🥓

Sweet Science! 3rd Graders Dig into Soil Layers with Delicious Treats 🌱🍫🍪🐛
Mrs. Reagan's 3rd grade students learned about the different layers of soil this past week. Each student was able to create the layers of the soil with a yummy treat using pudding, Oreos, chocolate chips, and gummy worms!

CMS School Picture Day is Wednesday, September 27th. Dress your best and come with a smile!
Lauren Porter received a positive office referral from Ms. Lacey Toothman! Lauren has officially mastered 100 skills in iXL this school year. She has spent twice as much time working on iXL at home as she has been given an opportunity to work on it in class. She has answered 4,299 math questions in 137 different skills. She has been on task in iXL for 31 hours and 32 minutes since the first day of school. She has made five months of math progress in one month of being in iXL this school year. In less than a year, Lauren has made 240 points (2.4 school years) worth of growth in math.
Lauren, keep up the great work! We commend you for roaring like a Tiger and soaring like an Eagle! #RoarANDSoar

Fall pictures will be made by inVision pix on September 26th. We’ve included a few suggestions to make your fall pictures all that they can be.
Wear solid colors if possible. They enhance facial tones and do not distract from the overall photo.
Wear long or short-sleeved tops if possible; avoid sleeveless.
Let your child know that the photographer will coach and position them for the best image.
Reinforce a positive attitude by sharing how excited you are to see their school portrait.
Encourage your child to let their smile shine and remind them that their smile is beautiful!
The photographers will use a number of tricks to lessen glare, but sometimes it’s impossible. Ask that your child be photographed both with and without glasses.

It's time again for our annual school flu vaccine clinic. The Evans County Health Department will be on our campuses to administer flu vaccines to staff and students who sign up.
