According to research, email is the preferred communication tool in the business world, and students at Claxton High School are learning to use this means of conversation effectively. CTAE teachers presented a common lesson on this topic to help students understand the parts of an email, what to include in the message, appropriate tone, and the importance of an error free message. This skill will serve students for a lifetime.

Mr. Sapp's STEM classes have been working on the Engineering Design Process. Students enjoyed problem solving with their teams to see who could build a freestanding ring using only potato chips. In this activity, teams were able to brainstorm, design, test, and redesign their project. Students also completed a writing component in which they were able to communicate their results. #4Cs #RoarANDSoar

Just recently, students in the program learned to make scones, and Gaby Francis surprised her family this morning with this baked treat. Her mom reported that they are "SO GOOD"! And these pictures scream, "Magazine worthy!" Way to apply what you are learning, Gaby!

Students in Ms. Johnson's Art classes are learning how to be art critics. Students had to look at other students' artwork and critique how the artwork looked and made them feel. The students discussed with each other the different things that they liked and disliked about the artwork. The students did not critique their own class's artwork; they critiqued another class's artwork. This gave our students a chance to practice giving constructive criticism in a kind way. #4Cs #RoarANDSoar
