11/9, 6:15 PM Update: 6:15 p.m. There are very little changes at this time. We will continue to monitor weather conditions. At this time all ECCSS operations will be normal for Thursday, November 10, 2022. 11/9, 2:00 PM: Evans County Charter School System (ECCSS) officials are working with Evans County Emergency Management Agency (ECEMA)  to closely monitor Tropical Storm Nicole's trajectory and possible impact.   The safety of the students, staff, families, and community we serve is our top priority as we make decisions regarding the weather. Currently the greatest concern is the potential for wind gusts that exceed  40 mph which could impede the safe operation of school buses.   We will continue monitoring the conditions, so please continue to check our Facebook page or website for updates.  Based on updates, the district hopes to announce contingency plans by 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, if needed.

Day of the Dead is celebrated in various Hispanic countries on November 1st and 2nd. In Mexico, altars are made to remember and celebrate the life of loved ones that have passed away. Spanish 2 students created tapetes for Day of the Dead. Tapetes are placed near the altars and include iconic symbols for Day of the Dead. They're also found on the streets in major cities in Mexico. The street tapetes are typically made of colored sawdust. Stay tuned to see the finished products!

Mrs. Herrington & Mrs. Morris's class voted on their favorite superhero today. They used a ballot box and voting station. Each child who voted had to use letter recognition to find their name and cast their ballot. They discussed the process and received a "I Voted" sticker, snack, and watched a movie of their favorite superhero.
