ECCSS is holding its 4th annual CHS Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, September 17th, at 10:00 AM, at the CMS/CHS cafetorium. Each year, ECCSS accepts nominations for the CHS Athletic Hall of Fame. This gives us a chance to recognize and celebrate the outstanding athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors who have helped build the Tiger Nation over the years. We have a deserving class of stellar Tigers we’re thrilled to welcome this year. CES has spirit! Yes, we do! We've got EXTREME TIGER SPIRIT! How about you? CES will host an Extreme Tiger Spirit Day on the last Friday of each month. This celebration is to help our youngest Tigers develop TIGER PRIDE, and we are connecting these efforts to this month's 7 Mindsets theme: We are all connected! This Friday, August 26th, we want all of our CES students and staff to show that WE ARE ALL CONNECTED! Please come to school in your black and gold Extreme Tiger Spirit best! CES has plans to recognize and celebrate the students, staff, and grade levels who show the most Extreme Tiger Spirit! Go Tigers!

Claxton Middle School and Claxton High School are offering Athletic Event Season Passes for students and adults for the 2022-2023 school year. Passes will be good for admission for one for all varsity and middle school CHS/CMS sports; pass does not include away games or playoff games. Pass must be presented at gate for admission. CHS student passes can be purchased at CHS from Ms. Robinson in Room B113 (WBL office); CMS student passes can be purchased at CMS from Ms. Durrence in the Media Center. We only have 100 adult passes available for purchase, so please see Ms. Reviere in the CHS/CMS office to buy your pass! Mrs. Hutcheson's kindergarten students loved choosing their special spot to read their book in the Media Center!

Mrs. Whitfield and Mrs. Bacon's class learned all about 'Maximizing Positive Relationships' with their classmates by creating a compliment circle and making friendship soup! 💕

Students in Mrs. Nicoli's Art class have been working collaboratively to research a painting. They had to Communicate and Collaborate to get the information, use their Critical thinking skills to determine what was valuable and valid research, and use their Creativity to determine how they wanted to present the information to their classmates. This is a great example of how our students are using the 4Cs while participating in project based learning!

Do you have a student who is in 7th or 11th grade? Please make sure all immunizations are up to date for all our 7th and 11th graders! Students have until Friday, September 16, 2022, to be up to date on immunizations. Immunizations can be done at the health department or a doctor’s office. Copies of updated immunization records should be submitted to our school nurse, Ms. Kiley Hall. 2nd grade has been studying government leaders and their jobs. Terry Branch, the mayor of Claxton, visited the school to talk with us about his duties in the community. We are so thankful for his leadership and for taking the time to share with us.

Mrs. Mathis’s class collaborating on their rock projects. Students are helping each other navigate google slides and becoming producers of technology while learning about different rocks and minerals.

Please help ECCSS celebrate two of Claxton High School’s (CHS) own, Aracely Silva-Rodriguez and Miguel Munoz-Cerro, members of the senior and junior classes, respectively. Aracely and Miguel are pioneering members of the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Pre-Apprentice Program, supported through partnerships with CHS, Ogeechee Technical College (OTC), and Claxton Poultry. Through this program for dual-enrolled students, Aracely and Miguel will receive college coursework through Ogeechee Tech and on-the-job training, including mentorship, through Claxton Poultry. Aracely and Miguel were welcomed to Claxton Poultry yesterday afternoon for the signing event, where members of the College Career Academy board and staff from CHS, OTC, and Claxton Poultry celebrated these two trailblazing members of the pre-apprentice program.
