Can you communicate with others without speaking? Students in Mrs. Smith's 7th grade career class are learning how to do just that. The students played a game in which they were divided into groups (note the colored dots on their heads). One person from each group had to leave the room while the others chose an object that they wanted the one student to identify. The student who was sent out had to identify the object, but the only help they received was applause (quiet or loud, depending on how close they got to the object). The students had a great time, and it forced them to communicate without talking, all while depending on their team to help them out. #4Cs

These students from Mrs. Daniel's second block (Mrs. Whitfield's homeroom) met or exceeded there ISIP goal. They are ISIP Superstars! #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily

7th grade students in Mrs. Sapp's math class explored how a radius, diameter, and circumference are connected with hands-on experience of drawing circles. Students then took everyday items, measured the diameter and solved for the radius and circumference. They then checked their work by using string to measure the distance around the circle. #ProjectBasedLearning #4Cs

Mrs. Myers, 6th-grade Earth Science teacher and Mrs. Brown, 7th-grade Life Science teacher, launched their project-based learning activity with Dr. Jamie Roberts, Georgia Southern University's Associate Professor of Fisheries, Department of Biology. Students learned about the human impact on the environment. Dr. Roberts spoke about watersheds, oriented students to their "watershed address" (Canoochee/Ogeechee), and asked students to identify how different stakeholder groups (e.g., farmers, power companies, homeowners, timber companies, Hyundai plant) might affect our local ecosystem. Dr. Roberts concluded by identifying ways that affect humans and wildlife and things each of those groups might do to lessen impacts. #ProjectBasedLearning
