Every purchase from a local business contributes directly to our community's economic vitality. It's a powerful way to keep money circulating within our neighborhoods, supporting local jobs and fostering a thriving local economy.
Consider supporting our FLEX Businesses this holiday season! They are run by some pretty amazing students, who also happen to be your family, friends, and neighbors! Choosing to support them creates a network of relationships that goes beyond a simple transaction. It's about fostering connections and building a stronger, more resilient community.
Remember, every choice we make as consumers shapes the community we live in. Let's make a difference, one local purchase at a time! #TheDEN

It’s not the holidays without Claxton Fruitcake! This dessert is famous worldwide, and one of our very own Work-Based Learning students helps get it to tables and shelves both far and near. Here senior Will Parker is pictured on the job at the Claxton Fruitcake Bakery with just a few of the many products that people from all over will enjoy this holiday season. Will is carrying on the family tradition that was begun by his great-grandfather, Albert Parker, in the mid 1940’s. Will’s supervisor says that he’s learning the business and has quickly become a key player in his department. You make CHS proud, Will!” #TheDEN

📚✨ Exciting Guest Readers at Claxton Elementary School! ✨📚
Yesterday was a magical day at Claxton Elementary School as we had two fantastic guest readers spreading holiday joy through the gift of storytelling!

🎅🏽📚 Mr. Paul Phillips brought festive cheer to his wife's 2nd-grade class with "The Gingerbread Girl" that captivated young hearts and minds. 🎄📖 What a wonderful way to celebrate the season of giving!
A big thank you to both Mrs. Dorcas Moore and Mr. Paul Phillips for taking the time to inspire and entertain our students. Your kindness and literary magic have made this holiday season even more special! 👏

Thanks to the Claxton Fire Department, Coach McLeans's 8th grade health classes were able to learn the proper technique and usage of fire extinguishers. They put out real fires in a controlled environment to help them understand how extinguishers work in emergency situations. We hope that these students never have to use a fire extinguisher, but we want them to know how to do it correctly if the need ever arises! #RoarANDSoar

Joshua Brown, Quarterback at Shorter University, paid a special visit to Claxton Elementary School, where he delighted the Pre-K classes by reading a heartwarming Christmas story. Additionally, he shared valuable insights with Coach Hill’s 7th period weightlifting class, emphasizing the importance of academic success and being a positive force both on and off the field. 📚🏈
