Students at Claxton Elementary School have been enjoying eating locally grown Satsuma Mandarin Oranges this week! These oranges were grown by MJ Family Farm in Tattnall County just outside of Glennville. Michael and Jeanie Thompson, owners of MJ Family Farm, planted their first tree in 2017 and are up to about 1000 trees now!
The Evans County School Nutrition program is participating in the Local Food to Schools Pilot Program this school year. This program provides funds for participating school nutrition programs to purchase food directly from Georgia Farmers.

Sixth grade students in Mrs. Sefers' math classes are studying unit rates. By using sales ads, students are able to compare prices of items and figure out which is the better deal. This is a math skill which will come in handy one day! #RoarANDSoar

Students in Ms. Vaughn and Mrs. Sowells' classes had a blast exploring the lights, sirens, and loud sounds from SRO Cason's patrol unit and Custodian/Firefighter Donnie Bates' personal truck!
