Students in Mrs. Rebecca Smith's 8th grade math classes have been working on a project based learning assignment. Once they created this, the students had to present their candy story idea and the problems to CMS staff. #4Cs #ProjectBasedLearning

Student in Coach Carruth's 6th grade social studies classes were given the opportunity to show off what they had learned this year to other students and staff. The students chose different countries that had been studied during the year and were given the task of making a story, finding history, and finding recipes within that country. The students had to find three recipes ( vegetable, meat, and dessert ). The students then had to present their recipe book and the story they wrote for their country. In addition, Mrs. Karen Serrano, CMS and CHS receptionist and interpreter, was also on hand to share her personal experiences and delicious candy from Mexico. Dale Kennison, 12th grade CHS Culinary Arts student, shared his bread recipe and love for cooking Italian cuisine. We hope that this experience is one to be remembered by our students! #PBL #4Cs

Mrs. Cowart, Ms. Miyon & Mrs. Penny's class enjoyed a movie with their marvelous parents on Friday. They cooked fresh popcorn and even let the parents try their cotton candy popcorn! Thank you for coming and spending time with our class! #CES

Georgia Southern's Center for STEM Education (i2STEMed) provided CHS students a unique opportunity to learn and interact in STEM labs. The STEM Field Experience allowed students to work side by side with the University’s faculty and students. CHS students participated in hands-on activities and tasks that mimic or are a part of current faculty research. These customized experiences allow visiting students to tour and participate in lab spaces as well as dine in the University’s impressive dining halls.

Our 7 Mindsets Focus this week is : Get in the zone. We’ve all had those days where it feels like things just are not going our way. It’s those times where we have to stop ourselves, figure out what’s going on, and put ourselves in a better state of mind. We want to make sure our actions truly represent what we are feeling, and we are acting appropriately.

Don't forget! CHS Softball Tryouts are May 8-9 from 3:30 to 5:30 at Tiger Town. Contact Coach Becky Francis if you have any questions.
