Firefighter students went to CES Pre-K to do a friendly firefighter demonstration. Students shared the protective fire gear and dressed out in the fire gear in front of the classroom. This helps younger children see and hear what a firefighter might look and sound like when they come to help. #RealLife #Heros

🚌🚦 It's National School Bus Safety Week! 🛑✨ While our Tigers are on Fall Break this week, we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of important laws regarding school bus stop safety! 🚗🚌🚕When a school bus is stopped on a road with its lights on and the stop sign out, here's the golden rule: in most cases, vehicles traveling in BOTH directions MUST STOP! 🚗🚌🚕 Please check out the graphic below to get more detailed information about the law. ECCSS appreciates the public's commitment to following these essential bus safety rules. Please like and share this post, so you can help us spread the word about important school bus safety reminders! Your commitment to exercising caution helps keep our Tigers and our entire community safe! #NationalSchoolBusSafetyWeek #WeLoveOurTigers #WeLoveOurCommunity

Reminder: Fall Break Holiday
📚🌟Get ready for a break, Tigers! 🎉🍎
Monday, October 16th, is a holiday for our students and an in-service day for our staff.
Fall break holidays for students and staff continue from Tuesday, October 17th through Friday, October 20th.
Enjoy your time off, Tigers!

Do you enjoy movie nights? Mr. Sapp’s STEM classes are learning about what goes into bringing a movie to life. They have been learning about topics related to “STEM on the Screen!” Students learned how different sounds, makeup, illusions, stunts, and animations in movies and TV are related to STEM. They learned about Foley sounds, stunts that were engineered for safety, how animations come to life, and how movie makeup is done. Mr. Burney lended his expert hand for make-up, and Mrs. Keyfauver taught them how to use the green screen. Students had fun walking the red carpet during the week and showing off all that they learned to faculty and staff! #RoarANDSoar

Check out these highlights from our ECCSS Board of Education (BOE) work session and board meetings this month!
➕ Ms. Vickie Oliver, an instructional coach at CES, and Ms. Angie Snyder, an assistant principal at CHS, provided an overview of Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards, Mathematical Practices, and the K-12 Illustrative Math curriculum we've begun implementing in ECCSS.
➕ They showcased how Illustrative aligns with state standards and walked all in attendance through a lesson.
➕ They shared how Illustrative Math integrates perfectly with our district's strategic plan for graduating students who are college, career, and community ready.
➕ Ms. Snyder emphasized the abundance of support and resources that are in place for our students and staff during this transition.
